Mikoshi (Portable shrine)
A left Mikoshi is the thing of Shizuoka-city, Shizuoka Kunouzan-Toshogu under manufacture now. Sculpture of a lion, treasure progress of a rat, etc. are given.
The structure of a mikoshi has become like a balance. From the topmost part of a roof, an axis is straightly extended toward right under, the lowermost architrave is penetrated, and a tenon is fixed with a wedge. In case a mikoshi is shouldered, one axis supports the load applied to the tree (near parts of a roof like bracken ) of four corners.
Although it is not visible from outside, inside the pillar on all sides, 4 and they are also extended downward by the pillar of a duplicate from the roof. This is carrying out the role which prevents a twist of a pillar and an architrave. Although it is not moved even if from under a roof before a lower architrave fits into 4 pillars and it crowds for them and touches them, it is not fixed in fact. If it fixes with adhesives, a nail, etc., cannot move a tree freely, and it will be divided, or will go out. Since it is the vehicle of God, I think that there may be various form, ornament, and results. However, since it builds with your precious contribution, I think it important to consider how to use the structure which will be able to do repair in the future.
